Bell extends Canadian Olympic support

The Canadian Olympic Committee hosted a reception at Canada Olympic House to thank Bell Canada for their continued partnership in supporting our Olympic athletes.

Canadian Olympic Committee Marcel Aubut, said: “I am very proud to announce that Bell Canada and the COC have agreed to extend their partnership. We are very excited to continue our relationship with a key member of Canada’s Olympic family.”

George Cope, CEO of Bell Canada and BCE, said: “Bell’s sponsorship is all about the athletes so it’s an honour be here with their family and friends at Canada Olympic House.”

Bell and the Canadian Olympic Committee will carry on joining forces over the next four years to provide various services for Canadian amateur athletes and collaborate with Bell on their Let’s Talk mental health initiative.

As a spokesperson for Bell Let’s Talk, Olympian Clara Hughes has emphasized the importance of mental health services for athletes.

“Sport can be difficult on a person but so can everyday life,” she said. “Bell understands that mental health is a huge issue and I applaud them for doing something about it.”

Canadian Olympic rower Adam Kreek said: “As an athlete you’re always busy, you’re always on the run, so to have the ability to pull out your phone and call your sponsors, to email your professor, to further your life outside of sport is really key. The Bell Athletes Connect program helps athletes become leaders in society and great people beyond sport.”
