Canadians to catch Day 14
Taekwondo
At 6:45 a.m. EST Friday, Sébastien Michaud of Quebec will compete in the men’s -80kg. At the age of 25, Sébastien is participating to his second Olympic Games after finishing in the top-10 in Beijing 2008. Seeded 6th, he will start his first round against Aman Yeremyan of Armenia. Just 45 minutes later at 7:30 a.m. EST 2008 silver medallist Karine Sergerie of Montreal will face Farida Canadian of Azerbaijan in the women’s -62kg class.
Swimming – Marathon
Richard Weinberger will hit the open water of the men’s marathon swimming event at 7:00 a.m. EST for a 10,000m race. At 22, Richard won gold at the last PanAm Games in this distance and won the London 2012 test event last year on the same venue.
Synchronized Swimming
After finishing 4th in the technical routine, the Canadian Synchronized Swimming Team will be back in the pool at 10:00 a.m. for the final free routine.
