Ottawa and GTA-area volunteers needed for 2012 Celebration of Excellence

The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is assembling another world-class team to showcase Canadian athletic excellence. This time, it is a team of volunteers for the 2012 Celebration of Excellence held between September 19-21 in Ottawa and Toronto. The COC officially issued the call for volunteers today.

“Our athletes gave their everything in London, representing our country with class,” said COC President Marcel Aubut. “The Celebration of Excellence is our chance to welcome them home in style and to show them how proud we are of them. We are asking Olympic fans to help make these three days memorable.”

The COC’s most prestigious annual event will take Canada’s biggest city by storm. A superstar class of Olympic heroes will be honoured over three days filled with community outreach, public appearances and engaging celebrations, culminating in an Olympic Heroes Parade in downtown Toronto and the 2012 Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony September 21.
