Giant home-crowd welcome on tap

TORONTO – The 2012 Canadian Olympic Team will officially be given the home-crowd welcome at the Olympic Heroes Parade in Toronto on September 21.

“During the Olympic Games in London, the athletes could really feel the Canadian fans’ energy and excitement cheering on the Team from back home across Canada,” said Canadian Olympic Committee President Marcel Aubut. “Now that our Olympic Heroes are back on Canadian soil, fans can come out en masse to downtown Toronto to officially welcome them home and congratulate them in person.”

Starting at approximately noon at the corner of Albert and Bay Streets, the parade will move through downtown, and winds up Maple Leaf Square in front of the Air Canada Centre for a public celebration.
