Finding Focus: This time in one year, with the pomp and circumstance of the Opening Ceremonies out of the way, Canada will be getting down to business with the first full day of competition.

Sochi Story: Among Canada’s top hopes for that first medal at the Sochi 2014 Games will be slopestyle snowboarders Sebastien Toutant and Mark McMorris as their event makes its Olympic debut on Day 1.

On this day: It was on Day 1 of the Vancouver 2010 Games that Jennifer Heil won Canada’s first medal (silver) in the moguls on the first full day of competition. Who will be the first to step on the podium in 2014?
