Maple Leaf Moments: Making Heroes

Making heroes: The first Canadian gold medal, at any Games, always echoes loudly. In the second full day of competition in Vancouver, Canadians finally belted out ‘O Canada’ at home as Alexandre Bilodeau stood atop the podium in the men’s moguls, becoming the first Canadian to win an Olympic Gold medal at a home Games — a moment that continues to inspire this nation.

Sochi Story: On Day 2 in Sochi, Snowboarder Spencer O’Brien, of Courtenay, BC, will hopefully be looking to make some history of her own as she chases the first-ever Olympic gold medal in the debut slopestyle event.
