Bilodeau Stays on Top of the World

An impressive showdown featuring an Olympic champion and a recently crowned World Champion proved to be one for the ages as Alex Bilodeau (Rosemere, QC) narrowly defeated Mikael Kingsbury (Deux-Montagnes, QC) in the dual moguls event at the 2013 World Championships in Norway to capture his third consecutive world gold medal. Bilodeau also defeated Kingsbury in the 2011 finals in Deer Valley.

Bilodeau was able to hold off the 20-year-old Canadian to keep his dominating streak alive and reverse his fortunes from Wednesday when Kingsbury won gold and Bilodeau took silver in moguls.

Nobody has won a World Dual Moguls Championship gold medal other than Bilodeau since 2007 when American Dale Smith-Begg was victorious.

In women’s action, Chloé Dufour-Lapointe trumped the rest of the field on her way to a gold medal. The native of Montreal improved one spot from her 2011 showing when she lost in the finals to Olympic champion Jennifer Heil (Spruce Grove, AB).
