The morning after

It’s the morning after the first night of National Hockey League action in the 2013-14 season, where four Canadian teams took to the ice. The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 away at the Bell Centre, while in Alberta, Winnipeg Jets visited the Edmonton Oilers and ruined their night with a 5-4 come from behind victory.

Here’s a sample of how each set of fans are feeling the morning after.  First, the victors.

Leafs

The standard.

The artist.

Unapologetic optimism Leafs style.

Jets

Happy regret.

Worth it.

He’s American but even a Canadian Olympic hopeful can’t ignore Jacob Trouba’s trending debut.

Here’s how the other half lives Wednesday morning.

Oilers

The doom and gloom.

Shopping list.

Going retro to mask the pain.

Habs

Leafs are ghostbusters.

Tough crowd.

With friends like these.

Imma let you finish.
