Artist brings bicycles to life from sketch to reality

Sometimes memory isn’t like riding a bike.

Artist Gianluca Gimini’s “Velocipedia” project began in 2009 when he began asking friends and strangers to sketch a bicycle from memory alone. While the results varied in accuracy (many missing pedals – which are essential), it is safe to say that we won’t see anyone from Cycling Canada riding these later this year in Rio.

Two of our favourites are below. To see more of Gimini’s work, as well as the idea behind this hilarious and playful project, click here to visit his website.
