At the sixth Diamond League event in Birmingham, England, Andre De Grasse and Melissa Bishop both ran season’s best times, finishing first and third respectively on Sunday.

A strong finish by De Grasse gave the Canadian his first Diamond league victory of the season, crossing the line in 20.16 seconds in the men’s 200 metre, despite a -1.5m/s head wind. Coming off the corner, De Grasse sat just behind the leaders, before a strong finished allowed him to edge out Panama’s Alonso Edward (20.16s). Sean McLean from the United States finished third in 20.24s.
