Rio rugby ball revealed ahead of sport’s Olympic return

With rugby returning to the Olympic Games in its sevens form this summer at Rio 2016, there will be many firsts.

One of those moments arrived on Tuesday when World Rugby revealed the look of the first match ball to be used since the sport (in its traditional 15s form) last saw the Olympic calendar at Paris 1924.

According to the rugby fixtures list for Rio, France and Spain in the women’s tournament will be first to use the new ball on August 6.
