Team Canada athletes head back to school

With Rio 2016 in the books it’s time to head back to class. These students did not have your average summer vacation, in fact some of their back to school wardrobes might include an Olympic medal or two.

Markus said goodbye to Rio 2016 mascot Vinicius and hello to UBC’s Thunderbird.

Kadeisha Buchanan – Football

Soccer stars Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence received a warm welcome back to West Virginia University.

Sage Watson – Athletics

You just can’t keep Sage Watson off the track. She’s already talking training at University of Arizona.

Kylie Masse – Swimming

After capturing bronze in the 100m Backstroke at Rio 2016, Kylie jumps back in the pool at the University of Toronto.

Deanne Rose – Football

Rio 2016 bronze medallist, Deanne Rose heads back to school for one more year.

Caileigh Filmer – Rowing

The California Golden Bears welcomed back rower Caileigh Filmer in true Olympic style.

Maxwell Lattimer – Rowing

‘Northern Lights’ member, Maxwell Lattimer went west to get back to school and back on the water with the Thunderbirds.

Santo Condorelli – Swimming

Jacqueline Simoneau – Synchronized Swimming

Jacqueline found the perfect fall study spot in Montreal.

Korey Jarvis – Wrestling

Wrestler Korey Jarvis‘ school days are behind him, but he made it home from Rio 2016 in time to send this future Olympian off to her first day of school.

Hannah Darling – Rugby

Lastly, rugby bronze medallist Hannah Darling returned to her hometown elementary school to inspire these youngsters.
