Bill Hallett joined the Canadian Olympic Foundation Board of Directors in summer 2015 as Treasurer. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CA) by profession, Bill is the Vice President of Finance and Operations for the Vancouver Foundation – Canada’s largest community foundation.
Bill joined the Vancouver Foundation from the Vancouver Board of Trade in 2012, where he served as CFO. Prior to joining the Board of Trade, he was the VP, Finance and Accountability for the Rick Hansen Foundation and prior to that held the Senior VP and Chief Operating Officer roles for Sport BC. Bill has also worked extensively in the corporate sector at several large public companies including General Electric, Falconbridge and LAC Minerals.
With an active interest in sport as a two (2) time IRONMAN finisher and four (4) time National Triathlon Team member, Bill previously served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Olympic Committee where he chaired the Audit Committee and sat on the Finance Committee. He currently serves on the 2010 Games Operating Trust Society, as well as a being a member of the Audit Committee of the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games Society. Bill was the volunteer Chair of Triathlon Canada from 1997-2005. He was elected Treasurer of the Canadian Olympic Foundation on June 1st, 2015.
In addition to his professional qualifications, Bill holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.
