Come one, come all

…to give our London 2012 Heroes the welcome-home they deserve! The parade will start just North of Bay and Queen. The parade will be comprised of 25 vehicles including Chevrolet convertibles and pick-up trucks. Olympians will be travelling both in cars and on-foot to meet & greet fans along the route. The parade will also feature bands, London cabs, and an old-school double-decker bus. Culminating at Maple Leaf Square, the celebration with continue with a DJ, Canadian pop-rock band Neverest and on-stage interviews with athletes.

Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony

Later in the day, the Canadian Olympic Committee’s most prestigious annual event will take Canada’s biggest city by storm. A superstar class of Olympic heroes will be honoured at the 2012 Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner & Induction Ceremony at the Air Canada Centre in
Toronto. The spectacular gala ceremony will feature world-class entertainment and celebrate the induction of Olympic legends.

The 2012 Hall of Fame inductees will include three Olympic champions: Beckie Scott (Cross-Country Skiing), Daniel Igali (Wrestling) and Jean-Luc Brassard (Freestyle Skiing). From hockey, the 2010 men’s team and 2006 women’s team will enter the Hall in the ‘Team’ category. Freestyle ski pioneer Sarah Burke will be posthumously enshrined for her trailblazing work as a ‘Builder’ in her sport. Legendary Synchronized Swimming coach Julie Sauvé will be inducted for her illustrious career. In addition, past Canadian Olympic Committee President Michael Chambers will receive the Canadian Olympic Order, recognizing his contributions to the Olympic Movement in Canada.

Net proceeds directly support the Canadian Olympic Team and their quest for Olympic glory through the Canadian Olympic Foundation.
