Gold medallist Jennifer Heil presented with Diamond Jubilee

MONTREAL – His Excellency, The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada presented Freestyle Ski Olympic champion, Jennifer Heil, with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in Montreal Tuesday. Heil won the first gold medal for Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy and a silver medal at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

“It’s obviously a huge honour to receive this medal,” said the three-time Olympian. “At the end of the day, I’m just a very proud Canadian. I’ve been given a tremendous opportunity from my community, province and country. I’m very proud to receive this and all that it represents.”
