TORONTO – In honour of International Women’s Day, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), in partnership with the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport (CAAWS), will be hosting a luncheon on Friday, March 8th in Ottawa.
The Canadian Olympic Committee will also be launching the Give Your Everything- Get Active classroom resource and CAAWS will be making an announcement. The purpose of this resource is to inspire girls and young women to be active in sport and in physical activity through the Olympic movement.
To help celebrate this event and to showcase role models in sport, female Olympians will be sharing their stories about overcoming obstacles in the pursuit of sport excellence. They will also share lessons learned and recommendations to young aspiring female athletes who will be in attendance. Media are invited for photo and interview opportunities.
