ALBERTA TO HOST 2014 CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE

CALGARY – Today, the Canadian Olympic Committee unveiled the Province of Alberta as the host of the 2014 Celebration of Excellence. The multi-city event will begin with a Block Party in Banff on January 11, 2014 to honour the Canadian athletes heading to Sochi for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Post-Sochi, Olympians will be honoured by Prime Minister Harper and all parliamentarians in the House of Commons in Ottawa on April 30, 2014. Olympians will then participate in week-long community events in Edmonton and Calgary, culminating in the Heroes Parade and the 2014 Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony in Calgary on May 2, 2014.
