“Canadian athletes have lost a strong supporter today. Dr. Sleivert dedicated himself to our athletes’ and coaches’ development, helping create Olympians. Indeed, he was the first Canadian Olympic Team mission team scientist ever brought on to provide services beyond the core responsibilities of care, comfort, safety and security. Today we mourn his loss and celebrate his hard work and the inspiring results he helped create. Our deepest condolences to his family.” – Caroline Assalian, Chief Sport Officer, Canadian Olympic Committee
