MONTREAL – Today, the Canadian Olympic Committee released the following statement of congratulations to François-Louis Tremblay, three-time Olympian, five-time Olympic medallist and one of Canada’s three most decorated male athletes.

“Today, we congratulate and pay tribute to one of Canada’s finest. François-Louis leaves competitive sport securing five Olympic medals, all of which have provided Canadians with an innumerable amount of great sports moments at three Olympic Winter Games. He is not only one of our country’s most decorated male Olympians, but he stands as a catalyst for generations of dreamers – countless young athletes who have been moved and motivated by his performances. On behalf of the entire Canadian Olympic family, I want to thank François-Louis for his remarkable audacity on the ice, his unyielding commitment to speed skating and for his contributions in changing the face of sport in Canada.”
