Update on Alexandre Despatie's condition

MONTREAL – Alexandre Despatie is recovering well after suffering a laceration on his head on during training in Spain Tuesday afternoon. According to the medical team, the scar of about ten cm is healing well and there has been no sign of infection. According to a series of neurological tests, Alexandre has not suffered from concussion.

Alexandre will come back to Canada in the coming days where he will recover for the next two weeks. The 27-year-old athlete will be monitored by a doctor in Montreal and supported by his training team, which has developed a program monitor his progress and determine the next steps for his recovery.

For obvious reasons, Alexandre will not give any interviews during his recovery, nor will his family. Rest assured that you will be informed of his progress as soon as possible. A press briefing will be organized when he is ready.
