Olympic heroes parade hits downtown Toronto
Come out and meet Canada’s London 2012 Olympic Heroes.
During the Olympic Games in London, the athletes could really feel the Canadian fans’ energy and excitement cheering on the Team from back home across Canada, said Canadian Olympic Committee President Marcel Aubut. “Now that Canada’s Olympic Heroes are back on Canadian soil, fans can come out en masse to downtown Toronto to officially welcome them home and congratulate them in person.
Starting at approximately noon at the corner of Albert and Bay Streets, the parade will move through downtown, and winds up Maple Leaf Square in front of the Air Canada Center for a public celebration.
The parade route can be found here: http://olympic.ca/celebration-of-excellence.
The Olympic Heroes Parade is part of the 2012 Celebration of Excellence, starting September 19th in Ottawa and culminating in the 2012 Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony on the evening of September 21st on the floor of the Air Canada Center.
