Be a Champion for Life: Fostering Positive Body-Image


Students will be introduced to Canadian Olympians with a focus on adopting and maintaining healthy active lifestyles and having a positive self-perception of their own body.

Student Outcomes

The goal of this resource is to provide teachers, students (both male and female) and parents with recommendations to create safe environments and foster self-confidence to increase participation in physical activity and sport.

Special Features

Expanding on the 2012-2013 classroom resource Give Your Everything: Get Active, athletes’ journeys and stories are used as a means to feature and promote physical activity, sport and positive body-image. Included in this resource are a teacher’s guide, parent’s guide, student activities and extensions as well as original narratives featuring Canadian Olympic Team members.
