Biography:

Claire-Wright_600In the five short years since she started playing water polo competitively, Claire Wright has made numerous international appearances. She won gold medals at the 2011 and 2013 Junior Pan Am Games and competed at the 2012 FINA World Youth Championships as well as the 2013 FINA World Junior Championships. Currently redshirting, Wright has played collegiately at Loyola Marymount University where she earned All-Conference second team honours in 2013 and 2014 while appearing in 55 games.

Family: Parents Jim and Wendy Wright… Older brother Ryan and older sister Rebecca… Younger sister Emma is also on the water polo national team… Getting into the Sport: Started playing water polo at age 16 after her siblings had played for several years… Outside Interests: Completed second year of undergraduate degree in Health and Human Sciences at Loyola Marymount University but redshirting for two years to train for Rio 2016… Loves trying new sports like beach volleyball and soccer… Odds and Ends: Favourite motto: “Don’t count the days; make the days count”…
