Cory Niefer finished in 38th and 46th place in the 50m rifle prone and the 10m air rifle respectively in his first Olympic Games appearance at London 2012.

In 2011 he placed in the top-five at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico and won the Canadian International Grand Prix in Toronto.

Niefer is a 13-time national air rifle men’s championship who coached the rifle team at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
