Danielle Wotherspoon-Gregg

Biography

Danielle Wotherspoon-Gregg is newest Olympian in her immediate and extended family that includes her brother Jeremy, husband Jamie, two sisters-in-law as well as her mother-in-law and her father-in-law. Wotherspoon-Gregg finished 33rd in the 500m during her Olympic debut at Sochi 2014.

A sprint specialist just like her husband and brother, Wotherspoon-Gregg made her World Cup debut in December 2003. She competed at the World Sprint Championships for the first time in 2008 but didn’t make her debut at the World Single Distances Championships until 2013 when the competition served as the official test event of the Adler Arena in Sochi.

Getting into the Sport: Started speed skating at age five… Outside Interests: Does clerical work for RCA Diagnostics in Calgary… Received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in German from the University of Calgary… Odds and Ends: Always travels with homemade muffins from her mother and collects cookbooks from countries she visits in their native language… Favourite motto: Everyday do one thing to be better.
