Biography:

Devohn Noronha Teixeira has more than 65 senior national caps since making his debut in 2009. That year he helped Canada win gold at the Pan American Cup, qualifying the team for the 2010 FIH World Cup. He made his first multi-sport competition appearance at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. After representing Canada at the Champions Challenge 1 in 2011, Noronha Teixeira didn’t make another international appearance until 2015 when he was part of the squad that competed in the FIH World League. That included Canada’s shootout victory over New Zealand in the quarterfinals of the World League Semifinals, a win that would eventually secure the team’s qualification for Rio 2016. A few weeks later, Noronha Teixeira helped Canada win silver at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, scoring in the semifinal shootout against Brazil. Noronha Teixeira has been a key figure on the Canadian indoor team, competing at the 2007,  2011 and 2015 World Cups. He made his Olympic debut at Rio 2016.
