Heather Steacy made her Olympic Games debut in 2012 and finished 34th in the women’s hammer throw event. Steacy qualified for London after finishing first at the 2012 nationals with a throw distance of 70.48.

In 2011, she represented Canada at the 2011 World Championships and the 2011 World University Games placing 14th and fifth respectively.

Along with her 2012 title, Steacy captured the Canadian Championship title in 2010 and 2011 and won gold at the Canada Games in 2009.

Her brother Jim is also hammer thrower and competed for Canada at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
