Biography:

Micha Powell has plenty of athletic pedigree. Her mother Rosey Edeh is a three-time Olympian and the Canadian record holder in the 400m hurdles. Her father Mike Powell is a two-time Olympic silver medallist for the United States and the world record holder in the long jump. But the younger Powell only began running track competitively in her senior year of high school. She now holds the University of Maryland records for the 400m both indoors and outdoors and was named a Second Team NCAA All-American for her 2016 indoor season. Powell first represented Canada at the 2015 NACAC meet. She ran a personal best 51.97 seconds in the 400m at the NCAA East Regional in May 2016. Powell was named to the 2016 Olympic team as part of the 4x400m relay but did not actually compete in Rio.
