Equestrian Peter Barry made his Olympic Games debut in 2012 and was part of the eventing team that placed 13th in London. Barry also competed individually, but was eliminated during early action.

Barry was born in Koln, Germany, and has lived in Europe, Canada and the United States in addition to travelling extensively in South East Asia.

Barry ended the 2010 season with an impressive fourth place finish at the CCI*** Fair Hill International Three Day Event. Based on this performance they were named to the 2011 Canadian Eventing Team Short List.

Barry owns and operates Maplehill Farm in the eastern townships of Quebec. He and his wife, Susan, have two children, Dylan, and Alexandra. He is coached by Phillip Dutton.

History will be made in 2016 when Rio de Janeiro, Brazil hosts the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, marking the first time that a South American country will welcome the world to an Olympic Games. It is also just the third time that the Games will be held in the southern hemisphere, following Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000.
