Tyler Bjorn made his first Olympic appearance in London, where joined longtime friend and Olympic veteran Richard Clarke, finishing in 12th place in the Star class boat in London.
Childhood friends, both of their fathers sailed in the 1972 Games in Munich, Germany.
Bjorn got a taste for Star sailing and keelboat sailing when he crewed for Clarke during a week of training in 2003.
Bjorn’s brother is also an Olympian, sailing at the Sydney Games in 2000 in Star class.
