Mark de Jonge captured bronze in 2012 at his first Olympic Games in the inaugural K-1 200m race. The native of Halifax, Nova Scotia qualified an Olympic berth for Canada with his sixth place finish at the 2011 World Championships in Szeged, Hungary.

Adam van Koeverden started kayaking in 1995 at the Burloak Canoe Club in Oakville, Ont. at the age of 13. Now he’s a four-time Olympic medallist and was one of the most recognizable faces of the Canadian Olympic Team at the 2012 Olympic Games. In London, he captured a silver medal in the K-1 1,000m one year after winning gold in the same event at the World Championships.
