With its flatlands, Saskatchewan may be an unlikely province to produce a snowboard prodigy, but Regina’s Mark McMorris is proof that it’s possible. At Sochi 2014, he won bronze in the Olympic debut of snowboard slopestyle for Canada’s first medal of the Games. He went on to win his second straight Olympic slopestyle bronze medal in PyeongChang.
Justine Dufour-Lapointe is the youngest of three moguls skiing sisters who all competed at Sochi 2014. While making her Olympic debut in Sochi, she made history with older sister Chloé when they finished 1-2, becoming just the third set of sisters to win gold and silver in the same Winter Olympic event.
