Brent Laing

Brent Laing

Brent Laing is a three-time Canadian and world champion second who has been playing with skip Kevin Koe, third Marc Kennedy and lead Ben Hebert since the 2014-15 season. After finishing fifth at that year’s Brier, they won their first national title together in 2016, going on to win the world title. As Team Canada, they were the runners-up at the 2017 Brier. Early in his career, Laing had won back-to-back world junior titles in 1998 and 1999 as the lead on a team skipped by John Morris.

He made his first Brier appearance with Morris in 2002, finishing second. In 2004-05 he started playing second for the team skipped by Glenn Howard, winning Brier and world titles in 2007 and 2012. They were the runners-up at the 2009 Canadian Curling Trials, just missing the chance to compete at Vancouver 2010. Over the course of his career, Laing has competed at 12 Briers. His wife is 2014 Olympic champion skip Jennifer Jones.
