Accreditation

Accreditation

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) allocates a limited number of accreditation positions to the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) for distribution to Canadian media. the COC determines the distribution based on organization's national scope in coverage, readership/circulation, previous history in attending and covering Games, geographical representation and linguistic equity.

The accreditation process for non-rights holding broadcasters is managed directly by the IOC. Further details on this process can be found at olympic.org. Any questions relating to this process can be directed to media.operations@olympic.org.

Buenos Aires 2018

All media accreditation for the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games is being handled by the International Olympic Committee. Accreditation for the Youth Olympic Games, October 6-8, 2018, also allows you to cover the IOC Executive Board meeting, October 3-4, the Olympism in Action Forum, October 5-6, and the IOC Session, October 8-9. To submit a request for accreditation with the IOC, click here.

The early accreditation deadline of May 24, 2018 has now passed. The IOC may process late requests, but media representatives now must arrange their own visa to enter Argentina and cover the event. In order to travel to Argentina to cover the Youth Olympic Games, accredited media must possess a type “24-H” entry visa, which can be obtained through the Argentine consulate.
