Coordinator, Digital Products (18-month Contract)

Be part of building a national brand.  Headquartered in Toronto, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence. We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including the participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Products & Data, the Coordinator, Digital Products contributes to the growth and development of Team Canada’s digital properties, the understanding of Team Canada’s digital fanbase, and growth of overall brand strength on digital channels. This role supports the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of all Team Canada’s owned digital products, including: website, loyalty, mobile app, and email newsletters. This position also plays a role in the management of data and analytics used to optimize our marketing efforts.

This is an 18-month contract role, spanning from approximately May 2023 through November 2024.

LOCATION

This position will be located at either the COC headquarters in Toronto, ON, at 250 Yonge St. or in Montreal, QC, at 500 René-Lévesque Boulevard West. We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to three days of remote work each week.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES

  • Champion the highest standard in digital experiences across all of Team Canada’s current and future properties and products
  • Support the design, development, maintenance, and continual optimization of Olympic.ca and Olympique.ca, with a key focus on user experience, user interface, Search Engine Optimization and back-end utility
  • Oversee key aspects of the Canadian Olympic Club, including day-to-day operations, sourcing prizing, Club content creation, quality control, user experience enhancements, innovative engagement opportunities, measurement, and reporting to internal or external stakeholders
  • Aid in the ongoing content creation, user experience optimization, and long-term strategic planning related to all aspects of the Team Canada Olympic App on iOS and Android
  • Assist with competitive analysis and research on digital product and UX best practices, especially for sport team mobile apps, websites and loyalty programs
  • Coordinate the implementation, optimization and audience data practices for Team Canada’s email strategy
  • Execute weekly email campaigns for the Team Canada Perks newsletter
  • Assist in developing detailed project outlines, implementation plans and workback schedules
  • Help ideate and execute products-forward content for web and app to drive fan engagement, audience data management and other similar duties via third-party tools and platforms
  • Support analytics tracking and measurement related to the performance of all Digital Products 
  • Provide training as required to ensure the entire Digital Team is properly trained and equipped to execute their areas of focus via Team Canada’s owned digital properties
  • Research and implement digital tools that help the entire Digital team function more efficiently
  • Work cross functionally with other COC departments to execute digital activations
  • Assist in managing relationships with digital product vendors
  • Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS

Education and Experience

  • University Degree, College Diploma or relevant experience in a related field (Business, Marketing, Media, etc.)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a digital marketing role
  • Other preferred experience:
    • Publishing and maintaining webpages using WordPress (specifically via Gutenberg block editor)
    • Creating email content on MailChimp or a similar email marketing platform
    • Using Gigya/SAP software, for single sign-on, gamification, and user data
    • Leveraging native tools or analytics platforms to assess the performance of websites (via Google Analytics), social media channels (via Emplifi), and/or app analytics (via Firebase)
    • Using content creation tools (ex. Rover/Judo) to build interactive experiences
    • Working with Photoshop to accomplish basic image editing tasks
