VANOC Unveils Official Poster

The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) unveiled its Official Posters of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on June 29 in Ottawa. The posters’ main features are one half of a stylized maple leaf, the country’s most iconic symbol, and when put side by side form the whole leaf.

“One of Canada’s most cherished symbols is the maple leaf. We put it on our flag, our uniforms and even our backpacks when we travel around the world. It sums up who we are — our shared history, values and goals as a country,” said Natalie Lambert, Chef de Mission of the 2010 Canadian Olympic Team.

Lambert joined VANOC Chief Executive Officer John Furlong and Jean Labonté, a 2006 Paralympic gold medallist in ice sledge hockey for the presentation near Parliament Hill.

The posters go on sale today at www.vancouver2010.com/store and at The Olympic Stores located at Vancouver International Airport and in Whistler, starting at $15 CAD.
