Karen Rubin

Director

A respected corporate executive and director with legal, governance and risk management expertise. Karen is an accomplished lawyer with more than 25 years business experience in Canada and the U.S., including with Bank of Montreal and American Express Canada. Karen has strong people leadership and communications skills, is pragmatic and collaborative with the ability to forge consensus.

Karen is a Director of President’s Choice Bank, Chair of the Conduct Review Committee and a member of the Audit, Risk and Governance Committees. Her community involvement includes Vice Chair and Governance Committee Chair of Dress for Success Toronto and former Director and Governance Committee Chair of Humber River Hospital Foundation. Karen was awarded a Mentor of the Year honour in 2006 by the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council for mentoring a lawyer from Nigeria. Karen has been involved in diversity issues since 1991 when she was a member of Bank of Montreal’s ground-breaking Task Force on the Advancement of Women.

Karen is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors Rotman DEP and holds the ICD.D designation. She was appointed a Diversity 50 member in 2013 by the Canadian Board Diversity Council.
