Independent Review Process

In connection with the Independent Review process being headed by Christine Thomlinson, the Board of Directors of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) has asked that the review be expanded to explore governance considerations related to the subject matter of the Independent Review.  The Board is interested in receiving recommendations on and examples of best practices in governance as part of any changes or improvements that COC might take in the future to help ensure that the COC continues to provide a safe and harassment-free environment for all.

To assist with this aspect of its overall Independent Review, the COC has retained Elizabeth Watson QC, who will be providing support on these additional governance elements.  Ms. Watson has more than 30 years in legal practice and is a nationally recognized expert in corporate governance matters.

Ms. Watson will be working closely with and providing information to Christine Thomlinson as a means of contributing to the Independent Review process as a whole.
