Canadian Olympic School Program

Olympic Day is much more than just a sport event, it is a day for the World to get active, learn about the Olympic values (Excellence, Friendship and Respect) and to discover new sports and activities. Based on the three pillars move, learn and discover, schools are organising sport, cultural and educational activities across the country.

Move, Learn, Discover

Encourage people to get active on Olympic Day. “Move” can refer to all sorts of physical activity for people of all ages and abilities.

Olympic Day is a great opportunity to look at the contribution of sport to global social issues that can affect your community. The teaching of the Olympic values is also important for this pillar, which are excellence, friendship and respect.

Discover is all about inviting and encouraging people to try new sports and activities that they have never done before.

The COC has developed free online resources to help you organise your celebration. It only takes 3 simple steps to register your event on the online portal and access the resources:

  1. Go to the Olympic Day Portal
  2. Click on “Register Now” and follow the steps
  3. Once completed, go to the “Useful Documents” section to access the resources

Although the official date is June 23rd, Olympic Day Celebrations may happen throughout the months of May and June to your convenience.
