Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor put his name into the history books with his dramatic victory at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. With a 72-foot putt on the fourth playoff hole, he became the first Canadian in 69 years to win Canada’s National Men’s Open Championship. That victory also made him the only Canadian male golfer to win the Canadian Junior (2006), Canadian Amateur (2007) and Canadian Open (2023) Championships.

Taylor set a record by winning the 2006 Canadian Junior Boys Championship by 11 strokes. He then began attending the University of Washington. As a sophomore he shared individual runner-up honours at the 2008 NCAA Championships. In 2009, he spent 21 straight weeks (June 15 to November 4) at number one in the Royal and Ancient World Amateur Golf Rankings, which won him the Mark H. McCormack Medal. In 2010, Taylor won the Ben Hogan Award given annually to the top collegiate golfer.

After turning pro in 2010, Taylor earned his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2014 Sanderson Farms Championship. It would be six years before his next victory at the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Following his historic win at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, Taylor earned his fourth PGA TOUR victory in February 2024 at the WM Phoenix Open.

Taylor is a graduate of Golf Canada’s National Team Program. He represented Canada at the 2008 World Amateur Team Championship and the 2018 World Cup of Golf. He and teammate Adam Hadwin finished tied for fourth at the latter.
