Milano Cortina 2026 Venue Guide: Veneta

Veneto, the eighth largest region in Italy, is located in northeastern Italy. Many of the venues located in Veneto also played host to athletes during the Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956 Olympic Winter Games. Cortina, the “Queen of the Dolomites,” is designated as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Cortina Sliding Centre

The new Cortina Sliding Centre is built at the site of the historic Eugenio Monti Olympic Track, named after the two-time Olympic bobsleigh champion also known as the “Flying Redhead.” The Centre will host bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge competition during Milano Cortina 2026.

Tofane Alpine Skiing Centre

The Tofane Alpine Skiing Centre will host the women’s alpine competition on the iconic Olympia delle Tofane slope. The mountain served as a venue during Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956 and has been a regular stop on the women’s FIS World Cup circuit for over 30 years. The slope hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2021.

Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium

The Cortina Ice Stadium played host to the Opening Ceremony for Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956, and 70 years later will host the Milano Cortina 2026 curling competition. In 2010 it was the site of the World Men’s Curling Championship won by Canada.

The Olympic Closing Ceremony will take place in the Verona Olympic Arena, a Roman amphitheatre that dates back to the 1st century. One of the best preserved ancient stadiums of its kind, the stadium welcomes over 600,000 guests every year.
