Milano Cortina Venue Guide: Lombardia
The Lombardia, or Lombardy, region is located in northern Italy. Milano, or Milan, is the capital of the region and the second largest city in the country, behind Rome.
Stelvio Ski Centre
Already a highly-regarded alpine skiing destination, at Milano Cortina 2026 the slopes of Bormio will serve as the venue for the Olympic debut of men’s and women’s ski mountaineering. Men’s alpine skiing competition will also take place on the Stelvio slope in Bormio.
The mountain hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 1985 and 2005, as well as the final stages of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in 1995 and 2008. Bormio is an annual stop for the men on the FIS World Cup circuit. The Stelvio course features an elevation change of 987m with a maximum gradient of 63% and stretches over 3186m.

The 120 kilometres of slopes at the Livigno ski area will play host to the aerial and moguls events of Milano Cortina 2026.
Livigno Snow Park
Livigno Snow Park will be the home of the remaining freestyle skiing events, as well as all snowboard events. The site boasts 60 structures.
