Gold Medal Plates is the ultimate celebration of Canadian Excellence in cuisine, wine, the arts and athletic achievement.
Founded by two passionate Canadians, Stephen Leckie and Karen Blair, Gold Medal Plates was created to raise substantial funds for Canada’s high performance athletes, while celebrating Canadian excellence. Their inclusive and engaging passion has created a movement across Canada where individuals and corporations can truly make a difference for Canada’s athletes as they represent their country with so much courage and pride. Since 2004, Gold Medal Plates has received tremendous support and accolades all across Canada, and raised over $12 million for the Canadian Olympic Foundation (COF).
In February 2017, the finale for Gold Medal Plates 2016 was staged in Kelowna. The Canadian Culinary Championships is an intense, three-day competition where chefs from the 10 regional Gold Medal Plates competitions compete for bragging rights and the title of top chef in Canada!
