COC Strengthens Marketing Partnerships Servicing
Appoints Alyson Walker as new Executive Director
Canadian Olympic Committee Chief Executive Officer, Jean R. Dupré, today announced the appointment of Alyson Walker as Executive Director, Marketing Partnerships. Based out of the corporate headquarters in Toronto, she will report to the COC’s Chief Operating Officer, Chris Overholt, starting on August 23.
As a former Manager of Business Development at CHUM and both a Senior Manager, Sponsorship and Syndication and Account Executive at Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium (CTV), Walker brings sales development and the service experience required to deliver on all aspects of the COC’s sponsor service strategy and execution.
“The COC is very pleased to welcome Alyson to the team,” said Overholt. “Her experience and consummate professionalism in delivering first-class service to valued sponsors and stakeholders will benefit all our COC partners, as Canada continues to be an Olympic leader worldwide.”
Walker, who holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, has built strong relationships and executed long term sustainable business partnerships over the years, working closely with US-based tech giants Google, Apple, Microsoft and some of Canada’s largest advertisers including Bell, Rogers, and TELUS.
“I’m extremely excited to join the COC and work with our partners as we embark on a new phase in the Olympic Movement in Canada,” said Walker. “I look forward to leveraging the close relationship that the COC and Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium have built over the last two years, as we delivered the Games to Canadians like never before.”
In this new role, Walker will act as the service and marketing activation lead to the community of Corporate Partners. She will serve as the primary manager of the most senior corporate partner relationships of the COC. Walker and her team will be responsible for the development and execution of the annual partner service plan and marketing activation programs for each of the COC’s corporate partners.
