30 Team Canada athletes to march in the Opening Ceremony
TOKYO (July 23, 2021) — Team Canada will send a delegation of 30 athletes, including Flag Bearers Miranda Ayim and Nathan Hirayama, and six Mission Team staff members to participate in the Tokyo 2020 Opening Ceremony.

The contingent of 370 athletes and 131 coaches participating at Tokyo 2020 will be Canada’s largest team to compete at an Olympic Games since Los Angeles 1984. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will feature 339 events across 33 sports and 50 disciplines. This is the second time that the Olympic Games will take place in Tokyo, which previously welcomed the world in 1964.
