Canada’s Tokyo 2020 men’s 4 x 100m relay team to receive upgraded silver medals
LANGLEY (July 24, 2023) – On Saturday, the Canadian men’s 4 x 100m relay team from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will receive their upgraded silver medals during a medal reallocation ceremony at the 2023 Bell Canadian Track and Field Championships. The Canadian relay team includes Jerome Blake (Burnaby, B.C.), Aaron Brown (Toronto, Ont.), Andre De Grasse (Markham, Ont.) and Brendon Rodney (Etobicoke, Ont.). Media are invited for interview, photo and b-roll opportunities.
The medal reallocation resulted from the disqualification of the team from Great Britain, whose second-place finish was officially rescinded after one of its members tested positive for performance-enhancing substances.
Following the medal reallocation ceremony, there will be an opportunity for media to speak with the Olympic silver medallists.
Media are asked to RSVP to Caroline Sharp (caroline.sharp@athletics.ca).
