Canadian Olympic Committee again among the Best Workplaces™ in Canada

TORONTO (April 14, 2023) — The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and the Canadian Olympic Foundation (COF) are proud to be ranked among the Best Workplaces™ in Canada by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada.

“Being recognized as one of the best places to work in Canada is something in which our organization takes a lot of pride,” said David Shoemaker, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General of the COC. “I feel tremendously fortunate to work with a group of incredible people who are all dedicated to our mission of transforming Canada through the power of sport. I’m thrilled to be working with this team on the road to Santiago 2023, Paris 2024 and beyond.”

The COC ranked 21st out of 50 in the 100-999 employee category, moving up from 22nd in 2021. The announcement was made at a gala event for the first time since 2019. The results are based on the 2022 Trust Index© annual survey results and an independent assessment programs, and processes by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The 2023 Best Workplaces™ in Canada will be published as a Special National Report in The Globe and Mail on April 14, 2023.

The COC focuses on fostering a purpose-led and high-performance culture while creating opportunities for growth and development.

Earlier this year, the COC was named one of Canada’s 2023 Best Workplaces™ for Women by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. This marked the second such distinction for the COC, whose staff is over 60 per cent women.

The COC, along with the Canadian Olympic Foundation, has 115 permanent employees who primarily work out of offices in Toronto and Montreal.
