COC Statement on Krissy Scurfield

PARIS (July 29, 2024) – Canadian athlete Krissy Scurfield has been ruled out of today’s women’s rugby sevens match against China due to injury. The injury was sustained on July 28 during a match against New Zealand. 

The decision was made by team medical doctors in conjunction with COC’s Chief Medical Officer. Scurfield will continue to be assessed ahead of the team’s next match.

Alternate Taylor Perry (Oakville, Ont.) will replace Scurfield for the match against China and wear number 13.
