Montréal to host beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, flag football and skateboarding (park) at Olympic Q-Series 2028
MONTRÉAL (July 8, 2026) – The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), Canada Skateboard, Cycling Canada, Football Canada and Volleyball Canada welcome the announcement by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirming beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, flag football and skateboarding (park) as the four sport disciplines on the programme for the Montréal stop of the Olympic Q-Series 2028, a key qualification event on the road to the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
Montréal was selected as one of four host cities alongside Tokyo, Shanghai and Orlando. The Montréal competition will take place from June 1-4, 2028, following events in Tokyo and Shanghai in May and ahead of the Q-Series finale in Orlando in mid-June.
Each event will span four days, creating a celebration of sport, arts and youth culture. Montréal is expected to welcome nearly 2,000 participants, including 500 athletes, and approximately 70,000 spectators.
