MONTREAL (May 30, 2019) — The Canadian Olympic Committee has announced Olympic champion Mikaël Kingsbury as the official summer ambassador for the Canadian Olympic Experience.

He kicked off the 2019 summer season by welcoming local elementary students to discover the exhibit including his very own virtual freestyle skiing station, where visitors get to learn all about moguls, from Kingsbury himself.

“Having these kids here today and seeing their faces light up is what it’s all about,” said Kingsbury. We are opening eyes to Olympic sports and I hope getting people excited about being active.”

The Canadian Olympic Experience, located at 500 René-Lévesque Blvd, opened its doors in June 2018. Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, it is an interactive exhibit that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the captivating world of Canadian Olympians and their rich history.

This must-see stop for families and tourists this summer has three zones to discover.

The first zone of the experience allows visitors to discover their athletic and sports profile. Next, your journey takes you through interactive experiences in Olympic disciplines like bobsleigh, track and field, fencing and freestyle skiing.

In the second zone, visitors discover over a century of stories behind the unforgettable performances by Canadian athletes via images, video and audio.

The third zone sees an exhilarating visual experience await its visitors with a flurry of moments of Canadian Olympic glory. Its panoramic screen and state-of-the-art technology transport visitors into an Olympic Games Opening Ceremony with all the excitement and intensity of the moment. Over 200 Canadian athletes are featured in this breathtaking montage.

“Ask any Olympian and they can tell you how all Olympic journeys begin with a spark,” added Kingsbury. “The Canadian Olympic Experience was created in part to help provide that spark while inspiring visitors of all ages as they live and breathe the Canadian Olympic Movement.”

The attraction welcomes all ages and is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission fees range from $7.00 to $13.00 CAD.
